Last Weekend to See the Trains in San Tan Valley

Every year, local residents Steve and Judy Lewis, open their home to the community to show off the amazing work of the Arizona Big Train Operators (ABTO).

The Arizona Big Train Operators is made up of dedicated garden railroad enthusiasts throughout the state.  Building train layouts in the garden with natural vegetation and running large scale trains is a hobby that is enjoyed by people of all ages.

The club has a traveling display of trains running on portable tracks called "modules" that are displayed four times a year to promote the hobby.  As members of ABTO, Steve and Judy Lewis are inviting residents in and around San Tan Valley to stop by their home December 8th and 9th as well as the following weekend December 15th and 16th from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

The event is free to attend however those who are able, are asked to consider making a donation to help with projects at Cardon Children's Medical Center, the Ryan House and Superstition Mountain Museum Railroad.  ABTO is a 501(c)3 Organization and your donations may be tax deductible.

The event this year will be held at two San Tan Valley homes:

  • 925 East Saddleback Place, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143
  • 1149 East Saddleback Place, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143
